The ER potion was small and quite efficient. I wasn't there for very long. The receptionist was kind and communicated the best he could given the language barrier. However once I got to the doctor and nurses I felt weird, embarrassed, ashamed almost. They knew I didn't speak Korean but they kept talking in Korean and kept repeating the same words. The doctor looked annoyed and tired, which i understand given that he was working during Chuseok. But after pushing hard on my stomach and kept repeating himself, I asked him to speak into my phone for me to translate what he was saying. As I was typing my response, he rolls his eyes, sighs, walks away, then says in perfect English from across the room, "is it okay if I prescribe you some pills for your problem?" Im not sure why they acted the way they did before. It felt like a hazing ritual.
